Hamilton Heights is also known as Hudson Heights, and this neighborhood includes the northern part of Manhattan and Inwood. It is bound by 155th Street to the north, Edgecombe Avenue to the east, 135th Street to the south and the Hudson River to the west. The neighbors are diverse and the homes are not only attractive but also inexpensive.

The residential streets are lush with tree and there are many architectural structures worth checking out. These include the Hamilton Heights Historic District, Hispanic Society Museum, and the American Academy of Art and Letters.

Hamilton Heights is also home to many recreational parks and community gardens which provide a tranquil place for residents and tourists to take a break from the fast pace of the city. At Riverbank State Park, there is swimming, skating, basketball, and no-fee tennis courts. They also offer events like Zog Sports and the Special Olympics.

The West Harlem Piers, at 130th Street on the Hudson River, is also a great place to have a picnic or to go fishing. They also have bike rentals.

Dancing is also big in Hamilton Heights as there are many places along the river, between 125th and 145th Streets. For those who enjoy the nightlife can check out El Morocco, Phucket, and St. Nick's Pub to hear live music. Big band or swing aficionados can look to Tian's on Thursday nights for dinner and dancing at no cover charge.

If a person likes to watch elegant dancers, the Dance Theater of Harlem has ongoing performances.

Hamilton Heights has many new cafes between 135th and 150th Streets on Broadway. There are also many gourmet markets and small shops that are within walking distance. Anyone looking to use public transportation have quite a few options as they include the IRT-Broadway and Seventh Avenue Line, which stops at City College, the IND, the A, B, C, and D trains. The New York City transit also has several lines that run through the neighborhood.
