Description
DUMBO of Lower Manhattan stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This tiny Brooklyn neighborhood is a place that offers spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge. Its neighbors are made up of artists and working professionals but is very family-friendly. One factor that divides some residents is the facts that the streets are quiet at night due to most businesses being closed.

The cobblestone streets and historic industrial buildings have been restored for residential and business purposes. This has piqued the interest of filmmakers and photographers who visit DUMBO to capture fantastic images to be use on film, print, and other mediums.

The area is most famous for its outdoor art shows and galleries, particularly the Summer Arts Festival, New York Photo Festival, and the shows
put on by St. Ann's Warehouse. The old warehouses are used as working space by many local artists as well as storage space for personal and commercial purposes.

Homes in DUMBO are mostly converted warehouse spaces that boast 12-foot ceilings and cement flooring. There are also high-rise co-ops, condos, and rental apartments. Due to the neighborhood's popularity, the cost of living is rather steep.

Other activities include movie watching at the ReRun Theater, a small theater that has a bar.
There are also summer movie events like the SyFy Outdoor Film series and movies sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

When it comes to eating, DUMBO has many options on the Brooklyn waterfront but few compare to the famous Grimaldi's Pizza or the
popular River Café on Fulton Street. Anyone looking to satisfy a sweet tooth should check out Jacques Torres chocolate shop or the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. There is also a 24-hour organic market.

Getting to and around DUMBO is easy as it is accessible to the Brooklyn bridge. One can also take the subway or taxi.
